Well, you can try Devil's Pie (http://www.burtonini.com/cgi/pyblosxom.cgi).
It's a window matching tool for metacity. For the moment it's a little hard to use, \
the configuration is written in a XML file. But it seems that the author is planning \
to write a GUI for it (he has it on hos todo-list:).
