Hi Don,

if you have the 2.4.20 kernel, you have to select "HID input layer 
support" below "USB Human Interface Device (full HID) support" to get 
the mouse working.
When I switched from 2.4.19 to 2.4.20 I wondered why my Logitech USB 
mouse stopped working. When I checked the option above the mouse worked 
as before.
