Hi,

i have successfully installed the gentoo distribution - and i love it... I just got \
one problem:

My graphics card is a ATI Radeon 9000 Pro by Sapphiretech ("ATI RV250 Chipset"). I \
have located a linux/bsd patch for the sources of a "clean" XFree86 4.2.0 or 4.2.1.

Here is a short example for the patch:

Code:

diff -ruN xc.orig/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/common/xf86PciInfo.h \
                xc/programs/Xserver/hw/ xfree86/common/xf86PciInfo.h

and so on...........

And here is my Question: How do i apply this patch using the Gentoo portage system? \
And: what is the best way to install WindowMaker, KDE and Gnome and XFree using kdm \
as logon screen (which order? all with emerge? how to configure kdm?)

Thank you a lot in advance,

Andreas Belitz
