Are you running WinXP on the SATA RAID that comes with the MOBO? if so,
You need be aware that the chipset drivers in Linux are just a pass
through for the drives, and they show up as SCSI drives. The 'RAID'
drivers that are used in Windows are COMPLETELY different and
incompatible. THis poses a problem, one possible solution is to use
part1 of disc0 for windows,( that way it doesn't complain about
booting). Further you could use part1 of disc1 for a backup partition fo
all your important files, (ie. /etc && /home/). us the rest of the
space on both drives to make your Gentoo install RAID0.

As for acctually setting up the RAID0 Array from the live CD, there is
no Issues, I have done it on multiple occasions. Just remeber to backup
your /etc/raidtab to a disc accessible from a virgin system, So
something like a floppy or a CDR.
See here for full install instructions. :)
