I tried building batik, the java svg package, but I get an error:
>>> Source unpacked.
Buildfile: build.xml
init-args:
init:
compile:
[mkdir] Created dir: /var/tmp/portage/batik-1.5/work/xml-batik/classes
[echo] debug off, optimize on, deprecation on
[javac] Compiling 1346 source files
to /var/tmp/portage/batik-1.5/work/xml-batik/classes
BUILD FAILED
/var/tmp/portage/batik-1.5/work/xml-batik/build.xml:363: Error starting modern
compiler
Total time: 12 seconds
!!! ERROR: dev-java/batik-1.5 failed.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 26, Exitcode 1
!!! compile problem
and when running 'ant compile' in the batik work dir manually, I get this
error:
compile:
[echo] debug off, optimize on, deprecation on
[javac] Compiling 1346 source files
to /var/tmp/portage/batik-1.5/work/xml-batik/classes
[javac] The system is out of resources.
[javac] Consult the following stack trace for details.
[javac] java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
BUILD FAILED
/var/tmp/portage/batik-1.5/work/xml-batik/build.xml:363: Compile failed; see
the compiler error output for details.
However, java is using at most about 12% of my real memory resources during
compile; swap isn't even used at all.
Using blackdown jdk, also tried with sun's 1.5 beta2 but that one failed on
the enum's, so batik is not 1.5 ready yet...
Anyone an idea on how to get batik building on my amd64?
Cheers,
