No, not really. That second message was a "red herring" because it
failed creating the object file in the first place, because of the GOT
overflow. The linker crashed and left the object file in a weird state,
so the next command in the chain didn't recognize it as an object file.
Anyway, something like that is what looks like is going on to me.
