Neat.  Now I need to not only update these files, as part of my
ongoing attempts to catch up on my backlog, but think about how
to improve the files to better cope with what you've done.

E.g., perhaps the @xref's can be addressed via @ifhtml (or whatever
that texinfo command is) for the time being.  (Have to see whether
egcs/texinfo supports that.)
