As far as I can see, the GNU GCC coding style doesn't specify this particular 
case, so the one from the GNU coding style should apply, which I adhered to:

The thing that surprises me is that this doesn't work with the way gcc 
extracts the po strings. I don't quite see why the G_() macro is necessary, 
but it wasn't important enough to me to debug this in detail.
