Sure.  I don't intend to fix it as it is not documented to work the way
the user expects, and there is no worthwhile easy fix.

The compiler proper writes the dependency to the output file as
requested.  It is requested n times, so you get the last one.  It's a
case of the user getting what he asked for, though it may not be what he
expected.
