I don't have another compiler besides the SCO one. Could building
from the source directories cause this to occur? I did a 'make
bootstrap'.

I'm not entirely sure I'm afraid and I've blown it away for a new
try.

OK - I'm going to go back and reconfig without the --prefix setups.

I d/l'd the make package file which installed fine but core dumps
when run. I'm d/l'ing source now and will try to build it from
scratch. Then I'll reconfigure from another directory and give it
another try.
