I vaguely remember a thread about C++ typechecks for some types not
working on some architectures (sparc64 ?) because of liberties taken
with bitfields or something similar.

This probably happened a year ago or so, but I can't seem to locate
the discussion, nor the corresponding changes that were made to the
C++ parser...

Am I dreaming ?
