Hi.

I'm a newcomer to the interesting world of Gauntlet. I've had various
problems, but the one I'm stuck on at the moment is a bit of a weird one,
and I have no idea how to solve it.

I'm using Gauntlet 5.0 on Solaris 2.6. I applied no patches to Solaris,
and I've applied both Gauntlet patches. The problem is with the http-gw
proxy.

When using a web browser to access the web transparently via Gauntlet,
many websites appear wrongly, with graphics missing and certain pages
being replaced with garbled chunks of the http transaction.

When I explicitly specify the firewall machine in the proxy settings
for the browser the problem goes away.

Alternatively, in IE4, I can tell it not to use HTTP 1.1, and that also
makes the problem go away. This doesn't help for people using Netscape.

The latter is unsatisfactory because it does not benefit all users. The
former is unsatisfactory because it involves a lot of hassle configuring
clients, and the whole point is to be able to use transparency so as not
to have to do this.

When I use Lynx, everything is fine.

Can anyone help?
