Kevin,

I am also running sendmail 8.8.8 but without the patch mentioned. Spoke with NAI
and have come up with a resolution without downgrading to 8.6

Add the following Option parameter to the sendmail.cf (if it is not already
there -probably not since it is only valid in version 8.8+ and the .cf file
Gauntlet uses is earlier):
  # what user id do we assume for the majority of the processing?
  O RunAsUser=uucp
.... ....................refer to page 744 in the O'Reilly sendmail
book...................

chmod 664 /etc/mail/aliases aliases.dir and aliases.pag
chown uucp:bin /etc/mail/aliases aliases.dir and aliases.pag
chmod g-w /var /var/spool

Also in sendmail.cf, there is a parameter that needs to be manually entered.
Apparently, Dj$w does not get changed to your domain name. Also any changes in
gauntlet-admin and/or the gui sets it back to Dj$w. I put it under the "manually
edit" and it takes care of this.

I too am having same problem with new release on same set-up.  Gauntlet
support provided the following response to my query:

Hello -

Recently installed Gauntlet5.0 running on Solaris 2.6. All seems to be
running
fine. Only problem I am encountering at the moment is the delivery of the
system
message log and the daily report to my email address. Under the gui, i have
selected the daily options and entered my email address,

In general, there is no problem with mail being sent nor received.

Any clues as to what it may be?
