$ rpm -qf /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/_xmlplus/sax/saxlib.py
python-pyxml-0.8.4-1mdk

(Result of a Mandriva 2005 aka Mandrake 10.2 system.) You need to
install the package python-pyxml, which is provided by Mandrake but not
yet installed for you.

IIRC you will need to install the package pyrex, too.
