Subject: [Gabber] very odd gabber/gpg interaction

the basics:

gabber 0.8.7, under either netbsd 1.5ZA or openbsd
gpg 1.0.7, with the "Huh?" thing commented out.

gabber receives (whitespace added for easy of reading):

    				  #######
<presence from='mrose@jabber.dbc.mtview.ca.us/tkabber'
          to='test@jabber.dbc.mtview.ca.us'>
<priority>8</priority>
<x xmlns='jabber:x:signed'>iD8DBQA9cn2TQ/D4pNAwBs8RAoEDAJ9hdDvFr/ah4ahSsSaYwZ6e+WmVwACf
ZzWeg1pz/ekPmIUsLSvNWx5qPKw=</x>
</presence>

Got signed presence from mrose@jabber.dbc.mtview.ca.us/tkabber

/usr/pkg/bin//gpg --no-tty --no-batch --lock-multiple --status-fd 16 \
    --run-as-shm-coprocess 0 --utf8-strings --keyserver pgpkeys.mit.edu \
    --armor --output - -

finished writing data to gpg

Got status line: "[GNUPG:] SHM_INFO pv=1 pid=3661 shmid=160628745 sz=4096 lz=0"
finished reading gpg status

all IO done, waiting for gpg to exit
Killing PID 3661

Adding keyid for mrose@jabber.dbc.mtview.ca.us/tkabber to keymap with id
				  #######

the tip-off that there's a problem is the lack of a keyid at the end of
the last line.

now watch this:

% gpg --status-fd 2 --output - < /tmp/Y
Detached signature.
Please enter name of data file: /tmp/Z
gpg: Signature made Sun Sep 1 08:21:05 2002 PDT using DSA key ID D03006CF
[GNUPG:] SIG_ID S3IJhSxdGC+FaXANq6BoiGoaIuk 2002-09-01 1030893665
[GNUPG:] GOODSIG 43F0F8A4D03006CF Marshall Rose <mrose@dbc.mtview.ca.us>
gpg: Good signature from "Marshall Rose <mrose@dbc.mtview.ca.us>"
gpg:                 aka "Marshall Rose <mrose@jabber.dbc.mtview.ca.us>"
[GNUPG:] VALIDSIG 9BDA0F52AF34D6CADBEBD34943F0F8A4D03006CF 2002-09-01 1030893665 0
[GNUPG:] TRUST_ULTIMATE

so, the question is: why didn't gpg generate (or why didn't gabber see)
the extra stuff...
