This bug has been fixed in the upcoming 1.9.10 release.  Here is a -pre
release with the fix:

http://www.cipherdyne.org/fwknop/download/fwknop-1.9.10-pre1.tar.gz

I will probably release 1.9.10 earlier than I had planned to make this
one go away.
