Hi everyone,
I am currently looking into the possibilities of creating a special
file-system for use in a computer-forensics framework. One of the issues
that this file-system should help to solve is the large amount of
disk-cache misses that the non-standard FS access patterns of such a
framework would induce. One thing worth considering in this context
would be a 'smart'file-system that keeps track of expected disk-cache
access patterns and throttles the addition of new data into the system
by making either the write mode 'open' block or by making a write
operation block until disk-cache expectations make it a good moment for
allowing new data to be added again.
Is there a good/preferred way to implement such a strategy into a fuse
based file-system?
T.I.A,
Rob J Meijer
