Information Management :: Issue Tracking
Software Development :: Bug Tracking

About: AgileTrack is an agile development planning and iteration tracking
tool. It assists in the creation and life-cycle of iterations, projects,
stories, tasks, and bugs. It is focused on simplicity and practicality.
Its interface is designed to be useful specifically for software
developers on small development teams with rapidly-changing priorities and
requirements. Its primary interface for developers is geared toward
availability, speed, and purpose. It is flexible and minimalistic with
respect to the data that is required for records. It is designed to be
compatible with agile development methodologies, particularly Extreme
Programming.

Changes: SQLServer is now supported as a database engine. Databases can
now be exported and imported so that migration between database engines is
possible. Various bugfixes have been made. Memory management has been
improved. Problems causing the interface to become broken have been fixed.
Some of the UI fixes affect tables, time widgets, and sorting. The way
sub-tasks are tracked with iterations has been improved.

Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: Players

About: AlsaPlayer is a new PCM player written with the ALSA sound system
in mind. It also includes support for JACK, OSS, NAS, and ESD. It makes
extensive use of multi-threading and supports OGG, MP3, WAV, CDDA (CD
Digital Audio), MOD, S3M, IT, and many other input types. Features include
a real- time effects stream, variable speed/pitch control,
SHOUTcast/icecast streaming support, multiple active visual scopes,
command line mode, playlists, plugin architecture, low-latency mode, and
more.

Changes: This is a feature enhancement and minor bugfix release. It added
basic keyboard navigation (skip, pause, etc.), loop mode (looping inside a
selection), and speed changes one musical semitone or comma a time using
the keyboard (handy for changing the key or tuning the song is played back
in). Pressing the play button or key during playback now returns to the
beginning of the song. A desktop file was added. Support for FLAC 1.3 and
1.4 was added to the FLAC input plugin.

Scientific/Engineering
Software Development :: Embedded Systems
System :: Hardware

About: amforth is an embedded Forth distribution for the the AVR Atmega
microcontroller. Once put into flash, it needs only a serial connection to
the host computer. New words are compiled directly into flash, thus
extending the dictionary immediately. It is ANS94 Forth oriented. It is
written in assembly language and Forth itself. The main development uses
Atmega8 and Atmega32 controllers; other Atmega controllers work with small
adjustments.

Changes: This release turns amforth into a library. Other important
changes are new words such as the DEFER/IS group and WDR (watchdog reset)
and double cell compares. All words now have ANS94 stack effects.

[007] - BusyBox 1.5.1
  by Michael Opdenacker (http://freshmeat.net/users/michaelo/)
  Tue, May 22nd 2007 00:49

Software Development :: Embedded Systems
System :: Boot :: Init

About: BusyBox combines tiny versions of many common UNIX utilities into a
single small executable. It provides minimalist replacements for most of
the utilities you usually find in GNU fileutils, shellutils, etc. The
utilities in BusyBox generally have fewer options than their full-featured
GNU cousins; however, the options that are included provide the expected
functionality and behave very much like their GNU counterparts. BusyBox
provides a fairly complete POSIX environment for any small or embedded
system.

Changes: This release fixes bugs in hdparm, hush, ifupdown, ps, and sed.

[023] - gd 2.0.35RC4 (Development)
  by Pierre (http://freshmeat.net/users/pierrej/)
  Tue, May 22nd 2007 10:11

Software Development :: Libraries

About: gd is a library for creating and reading PNG, JPEG, GIF, WBMP, and
XPM images. It has many features and can be used in scripts (e.g. PHP,
Perl, Ruby, Lua, and Python) for dynamic image generation. PHP users
should note that PHP 4.3.x includes its own distribution of gd, which is
currently the best choice for PHP applications.

Changes: An important regression (introduced in the last RC) has been
fixed in the gdImageLine function. This regression affected gdImageArc and
gdImagePolygon. A couple of important bugs have been fixed in gdImageArc
and in the PNG loader.

[035] - Klaverjas Score 0.2
  by Menno Lodder (http://freshmeat.net/users/thirler/)
  Tue, May 22nd 2007 13:20

Games/Entertainment

About: Klaverjas Score is a program to keep track of the scores during a
game of klaverjas (a Dutch card game). The program is meant to replace
written score keeping, making accurate score listing much easier. It also
keeps track of previous games. It is very suitable for small groups of
people that play together regularly and that would like to have a record
and comparison of their games.

Changes: A difference indicator between two teams has been added. An about
dialog has been added. The short version of the names of the players are
now made as long as will fit. klaverjas.bat is now executable under Linux.
An equal score was counted as a win for team 1 and a loss for team 1
(neither gets a point now). When having more than 4 players in the
database, statistics were incorrect. The use of the enter button after
filling in a score field has been improved. Roem scores were not always
properly aligned. Several other glitches have been fixed.

[041] - MirBSD Korn Shell R27e
  by mirabile (http://freshmeat.net/users/mirabile/)
  Tue, May 22nd 2007 21:53

System :: Shells

About: The MirBSD Korn Shell (mksh) is an actively developed successor of
pdksh (the Public Domain Korn Shell), aimed at producing a shell good for
interactive use, but with primary focus on scripting. It is intended to be
portable to most *nix-like operating systems as long as they're not too
obscure. mksh incorporates improvements from OpenBSD and Debian, as well
as bugfixes and enhancements developed for the MirOS and FreeWRT projects.
The emacs command line editing mode is UTF-8 capable, and Byte Order Marks
are ignored in scripts. The shell supports large files, as well as all
pdksh and some csh, AT&T ksh, and GNU bash features, is compatible with
the Bourne shell and POSIX (within limits, but you can turn off brace
expansion), has no limit on array sizes, and incorporates some other
useful builtins and features. While being already fast and small (without
losing functionality), flags to make it even smaller can be given at
compile time. An interactive shell reads "~/.mkshrc" on startup.

Changes: A lot of annoying display bugs, cursor positioning bugs, and the
like were fixed along with a few bugs identified by Coverity, Inc. All of
these were inherited from pdksh/OpenBSD ksh code. Some unused code was
removed and a regression test which failed on MirOS BSD and Mac OS X was
fixed.

[054] - rsstool 1.0.0rc1
  by Dirk (http://freshmeat.net/users/noisyb/)
  Tue, May 22nd 2007 01:35

Internet

About: rsstool is a tool to read, parse, merge, and write RSS (and Atom)
feeds. It has some other functions built-in like text, HTML, or property
file output, or templates with custom tags to insert RSS feeds into pages
that could be uploaded to a server that supports only static HTML.

Changes: This release added PHP code that shows how the feeds collected by
RSStool can be used in your own sites. All old versions of the ANSI SQL
script structure were made selectable for backwards compatibility.
--google-news[=SEARCH] generate RSS feeds from Google/News and removes
Google redirects from the links (default: latest news). --google=SEARCH
generates an RSS feed from a Google search. All hacks were updated or
fixed. A --href option that outputs only the links as plain text was
added. --parse=FILE|URL generates an RSS feed from a random HTML document.
A --wget option uses wget for downloading. Some small bugfixes were made.

Information Management

About: Scalable OpenGroupware.org (SOGo) is a project derived from
OpenGroupware.Org (OGo) with scalability in mind. The Inverse edition of
this project has many feature enhancements: CalDAV and GroupDAV
compliance, full handling of vCard as well as vCalendar/iCalendar
formats, and support for folder sharing and ACLs. The Web interface has
been rewritten in an AJAX fashion to provided a faster UI for the users,
consistency in look and feel with the Mozilla applications, and to reduce
the load of the transactions on the server.

Changes: Many bugs introduced with the recent LDAP code refactoring were
fixed. The ability to authenticate with an indirect bind was added.
Support for libFoundation was dropped. URLs and emails are now scanned in
plain text emails and substituted with the appropriate link or JavaScript
hook. The ACL code now handles the concept of default roles. Moreover, it
was also extended to manage the IMAP ACLs following RFC 4314, directly
from the Web UI.

[060] - Systems of Ordinary Differential Equations 11 (RubySode)
  by Dennis J. Darland (http://freshmeat.net/users/djdarland/)
  Tue, May 22nd 2007 07:25

About: Sode.rb generates a Ruby program to use long Taylor series to solve
systems of ordinary differential equations. It generates code to solve the
equations in Ruby. Using the Taylor series, estimates are made of the
location and order of poles. An effort is made to adjust H to control the
error. It has worked well in testing, but needs more testing as there are
so many possibilities.

Changes: "jump_" is now done right. "_higher" variables were eliminated.
Logic was simplified. Higher order equations now work better.
