About: BeleniX is a new live CD distribution based on the version of
OpenSolaris that runs on x86 machines. It includes all of the OpenSolaris
components (core kernel, libraries, and utilities) and also includes
additional GNU/OSS software. BeleniX will ultimately become a full
OpenSolaris and GNU/OpenSolaris distribution.
Changes: This release bundles the Nvidia 3D accelerated driver. This will
enable nice stuff like compositing effects in Xfce (transparency and
shadows). It was updated to use OpenSolaris build 52. This build features
the addition of HAL and System D-BUS daemon and iSCSI support for ZFS. An
Xorg configuration utility, based on Perl-Curses, was added. Firefox was
updated to 2.0 and Thunderbird was updated to 1.5.0.8. Koffice was updated
to 1.6.0. The bug that used to cause a boot-up error after harddisk install
was fixed. Several other bugs like the KDE screen lock issue were fixed.

About: Drqueue is a distributed rendering queue. It helps manage jobs on a

and Pixie out of the box, and can support any other renderer or computing
task that can be handled via scripting.
Changes: Bugs regarding 32/64-bit platforms, the Makefile, the Python
binding, shared memory environment variables, and blocked hosts on jobs
were fixed. Python setuptools are now used. More log levels were added for
extra debugging. A new logging mechanism is used. The first merges with the
modular code were made. This was tested with Mac OS 10.3 and 10.4, as well
as Athlon64 and i686.

About: gscan2pdf is a GUI to ease the process of producing PDFs from
scanned documents. You scan in one or several pages and create a PDF of
selected pages. At maturity, the GUI will have similar features to that of
the Windows Imaging program, but with the express objective of writing a
PDF, including metadata. Scanning is handled with SANE via scanimage. PDF
conversion is done by libtiff. Perl is used for portability and ease of
programming, with gtk2-perl for the GUI.
Changes: The right mouse button was made stickier. A Dutch translation was
added. The German translation was updated. The to French translation was
updated. The Makefile was rewritten with MakeMaker. The .deb package was
corrected to use an architecture of "all" instead of "i386". Code was
added to allow translation of scanimage command line options. An .rpm

About: iText is a library that contains classes to generate documents in
the Portable Document Format (PDF), XML, HTML, and RTF. It can also parse
XML documents and convert them into any of these formats. Pages of

first is support for AES encryption; formerly only RC4 was supported. The
second is the possibility to replace push buttons in an AcroForm; in
previous versions you could change the text of a TextField, but now you

bugfixes. Some constants in class BaseField were changed. If you are using

About: mkvtoolnix is a set of tools that allow users to display
information about, extract streams from, merge several streams into, and
split Matroska media files. Supported video stream types include streams

are supported, including SRT, SSA, ASS, VobSub, and many others. The

About: Smb4K is a SMB and CIFS (Windows) share browser for KDE. It uses
the Samba software suite to access the SMB and CIFS shares of the local
network neighborhood. Its purpose is to provide a program that's easy to
use and has as many features as possible.
Changes: This is a security update to the current stable branch. A grave
bug was discovered that could cause a corrupted /etc/sudoers file if debug
or error output was received via stderr while reading the file for
subsequent processing. All versions of the 0.7.x series are affected. The
Smb4K team advises all users to update to Smb4K 0.7.5, where this issue
has been fixed.

provides support for the entire life-cycle of the conference review
process.
Changes: This version includes many changes that were added due to
requests of program chairs and reviewers in actual conferences. Some of
these changes include re-implementation of the voting mechanism to allow
multiple concurrent ballots and a mechanism to let the chair experiment

About: xbmsd is a file sharing daemon that uses the Xbox Media Streaming
Protocol (XBMSP) supported by the Xbox Media Center. It also supports the
XBMSP Server Discovery Protocol (XBSDP). Its main features are mapping

filetype-specific, "synthetic" mplayer configuration files, and support
for filtering files with arbitrary programs, which can, for example,
re-encode media files on the fly.

version of Xerces-J defines the Xerces Native Interface (XNI), and
provides a complete, standards compliant reference implementation using
XNI. The parser was completely re-designed and re-implemented to be

Changes: As of this release, Xerces' distribution includes the Xalan
serializer. Xerces and Xalan now share a common serialization codebase.
The DOM Level 3 serialization support which was in Xerces has been

deprecated. This release also upgrades the xml-commons resolver to version
1.2 (which provides support for OASIS XML Catalogs 1.1), introduces a few
