About: The AKFQuiz package lets you easily make your own quiz games or
learning exercises. These can be used either with grquiz in a graphical
environment (SDL), with crtquiz on a text terminal, or with diaquiz in a
GUI environment. There is also a line oriented variant, linequiz, which
can be used as a backend. A CGI-variant can be installed on a Web server
to offer exercises via the Web. A mkquiz tool that generates an HTML file
for to use with the JavaScript akfquiz5.js is also included. Those can
then be published with any Web-space provider.
Changes: This release is easier to install from source (and more
"standard"). You can use the SDL with GNU Pascal. There are many
improvements in cgiquiz, particularly a new exam mode that is usable for
real exams (still experimental).

super-resolution, deblurring, noise reduction, and anti-aliasing. Its
principle of operation is synthetic capture, combining multiple inputs
representing the same scene.
Changes: This prerelease adds dynamic adjustment of the Monte Carlo
alignment parameter, fixes a potential nondeterminism bug in the random
number generator, and modifies the default settings to improve the speed
of high-quality runs. Other changes include the addition of file-scoping

About: AnyEvent provides an identical interface to multiple event loops.
This allows module authors to utilize an event loop without forcing module
users to use the same event loop (as only a single event loop can coexist
peacefully at any one time). The interface itself is vaguely similar but
not identical to the Event module. On the first call of any method, the
module tries to detect the currently loaded event loop by probing for an
already-loaded event loop, such as Glib or Event. The first one found is
used. If none is found, the module tries to load an event module.
Changes: The API has been streamlined (no arguments to callbacks anymore,
and r and w watchers must be separate), allowing for more efficient
implementations. A pure Perl event loop has been implemented as a last
resort fallback when nothing better can be found, enabling AnyEvent-using
modules to work when no XS or precompiled event modules are available.

About: bbe is a sed-like editor for binary files. Instead of reading input
in lines as sed, bbe reads arbitrary blocks from an input stream and
performs byte-related transformations on found blocks. Blocks can be
defined using start/stop strings, stream offset and block length, or a
combination. Basic editing commands include delete, replace,
search/replace, binary operations (and, or, etc.), append, and bcd/ASCII
conversion. For examining the input stream, it contains some grep-like
features like printing the input file name, stream offset, and block
number of found blocks. Block contents can also be printed in different
formats like hex, octal, ASCII, and binary.
Changes: Problems with zero size input were corrected.

About: Checkmate mpck reads MP3 files and tries to determine if they are
correct (i.e. not damaged). It scans the file to see if the frames are
where they are supposed to be, if the frame headers are correct, and if
the headers are consistent throughout the file. It gives some statistics
on the file, and a conclusion whether the file is good or bad.
Changes: Recursively scanning directories now works with extension
matching. Some cases where checkmate reported read errors were also
solved.

About: Daikon is an implementation of dynamic detection of likely
invariants. An invariant is a property (such as "x=2*y+5" or
"this.next.prev = this" or "myarray is sorted by <") that holds at a
certain point or points in a program. Invariants are often seen in assert
statements, documentation, and formal specifications. Invariants can be
useful in program understanding and a host of other applications. Daikon
runs a program, observes the values that the program computes, and then
reports properties that were true over the observed executions. It can
detect properties in Java, C, C++, Perl, and IOA programs, in spreadsheet
files, and in other data sources.

About: eXcavator is an XML query processing class for PHP. Queries are
constructed using a small query language, and query results are returned
as either loosely formed or strict XML, in formats suitable for both text
and HTML. One of eXcavator's most useful features is its facility to
insert query results into user-defined templates, which allow for a free
interpolation of user text and the data extracted by the query. It runs on
top of XML_PullParser, but uses a completely independent API. However, it
does offer opportunities to use the facilities of both packages side by
side for programmers familiar with both.
Changes: This release adds support for indirect addresses when addressing
context-elements both in the patterns for formatted text and in the

About: Irtza's Operating Environment (IOE) is a collection of over 80
shell programs and a couple of GTK programs. There are programs for
processing XML files from the prompt, which is mainly useful for reading
from XML configuration files or setting values in XML configuration files.
When used with the GUI XML editor, this can be used to create boot time XML
config files that can be read by boot scripts. sockrun is a program to
divert a program's stdin/stdout across a TCP connection. irthttp is a very
tiny Web server to use with the above program. forms is a program that
takes a template in XML and generates a GTK form that will store all data
in an XML file.
