About: Bonfire is a CD burning tool for the Gnome desktop. It features the
ability to burn / copy / erase (if rewritable) data and audio discs, full
editing of data discs (move/move/rename files inside a directory) as well
as audio discs, devices detection thanks to HAL, file change notification
(requires kernel > 2.6.13), a customisable GUI (when used with GDL), drag
and drop from Nautilus and other apps, support for any song format
supported by gstreamer, a song and film previewer (thanks to Gstreamer),
the ability to use files on a network as long as the protocol is handled
by gnome-vfs, a search widget based on beagle, and display of all
playlists and their contents (automatically detected through beagle).
Changes: On-the-fly burning for data CDs and DVDs, CD copy, and audio CDs.
Data or disc images can be created on a hard drive instead of being burned.
You can append data to a multi-session CD or DVD. CD-text is written to the
disc for audio CDs. The UI was rethought and improved in many places. In
the search pane, you can search files by categories. During the burning
process, bonfire displays an icon in the tray that displays the advance of
the burning operation. The preview pane has been improved and can also
preview images. There are many bugfixes and small (UI) enhancements.

pronunciation of Japanese kana (hiragana & katakana) in an easy way. The

About: The main purpose of LoFiMo is, as the name states, to monitor log
files. It does this in real time, i.e. shows the contents of log files as
they are changing. The user can connect to LoFiMo with a Web browser or
use the console for plain text output. When using a Web browser, the
output can be formatted with cascading stylesheets, which the user can
define. Thus, it is possible to highlight certain log entries with
different colors and fonts. It is also possible to play sounds or execute
commands (send an email, play sound with a custom player, etc.) when a log
entry matches a filter. LoFiMo can parse Apache style log files and syslog
style log files. Among others, there are filters that can parse iptables
logs and merge multiple log lines of Postfix into a single one.
Changes: This release adds support for files that contain dates and/or
times in their names, e.g. for files that change daily.

About: When reading a lot of data from disk or network filesystem, e.g.
during a backup, buffer cache pollution can be a substantial performance
problem for other processes on the machines involved due to buffer cache
pollution. odirect is intended to provide a convenient way of avoiding
that on systems that offer an O_DIRECT value for open(). The project
provides a C library and SWIG code to make it easy to use from your
favorite scripting language.
Changes: odirect's non-cache-polluting read support is being used in a
single production application now (indexing about 3/4 GB of mail each
night), so it's beyond just testing. This version also changes the "pump"
method name to "pull" (for reading) and adds a new "push" method (for
writing). Pull continues to have a four level test framework built around
it (one in C and 3 in Oython), but there is no testing for push yet.

and timeouts, making it both network and user friendly. It also has
built-in hooks for making graphs with rrdtool, providing insight into

Changes: This release adds minor amounts of polish and generally improves
the quality of implementation. This is the first release in full
compliance with the "dns-anti-spoofing" draft RFC. Unless problems crop
up, this release should become 3.1-final.

About: The goal of Project LRNJ is to create an entertaining console-style
RPG that teaches Japanese. This game is called "Slime Forest Adventure",
and it is a simple NES-like CRPG which currently introduces the player to

Changes: The interface has been simplified and made more regular. Some

About: Textbender is a distributed system of collaborative writing, with a
basis in genetic theory. As a distributed system, it differs from the
typical centralized approach (e.g. of a Wiki) where writers push
contributions to a single, central copy of the text. By contrast,
textbender has no central copy; instead, each writer has a separate copy
of the text, and selectively pulls contributions from other writers. As a
consequence, there are multiple variations of the text. Collectively, the
text has spatial diversity.
Changes: A modelling and simulation framework was introduced. Reference
simulators were coded.

help you in the real world. It tracks units of measurement throughout all
calculations and ensures that answers are correct. It converts between
systems of measurement and has a huge library of physical data. It handles
conversions between time zones, currencies, and historical values of the

Changes: This release fixes a bug in cyclic class definitions that contain
class-level variables of the same type as the class. This could lead to
multiple variables sharing the same values. A mis-feature that allowed
variables to be added to classes at runtime was removed. In addition, the
cached exchange rate for the precious metal Platinum (XPT) was fixed. If
Internet access was not available at runtime, the cached value may have
been wrong.

About: TYPO3 is a Web content management system which features automatic
creation of navigational menus, headlines, and other dynamic graphical

About: VNCTracker is a tool to keep track of mostly dynamic hosts on
various dial-up accounts. Rather than call each user whenever you need a
current IP address for connecting with VNC, you visit the Web page
generated by VNCTracker which shows the updated IP address for that host.
You can then build .vnc files for easily starting VNC with the settings to
connect to the host.

time are provided. A few changes were made to where the footer.html is
inserted. It is now inside the main table, not below it.

About: The WiKID Strong Authentication System is a highly scalable, secure
two-factor authentication system consisting of a server, a token client,
and network clients that connect a service such as a VPN or Web page to
the WiKID server to validate one-time passcodes. The user enters their PIN
into the token client, where it is encrypted and sent to the server. If the
PIN is correct, the encryption valid, and account active, the one-time
passcode is generated, encrypted, and returned to the user. It is simple
to implement and maintain, allows users to be validated automatically,
requires no hardware tokens, has a simple API for application support via
a COM object and Java component, supports multiple domains, and supports
replication for fault tolerance and scalability.
