About: Dnsmasq is a lightweight, easy to configure DNS forwarder and DHCP
server. It is designed to provide DNS and (optionally) DHCP to a small
network. It can serve the names of local machines which are not in the
global DNS. The DHCP server integrates with the DNS server and allows
machines with DHCP-allocated addresses to appear in the DNS with names
configured either in each host or in a central configuration file. Dnsmasq
supports static and dynamic DHCP leases and BOOTP for network booting of
diskless machines.
Changes: The release fixed a bug where a DHCP address allocation could
fail when a single physical interface had two or more IP addresses on
different subnets and the DHCP server was configured to allocate addresses
for more than one of these subnets. Some packaging issues were fixed and
additional translations were added.

About: Efax-gtk provides a GUI frontend for the efax fax program. It
interfaces with efax directly, replacing the scripts supplied with efax,
and can be used for receiving and sending faxes, and for viewing,
printing, and managing faxes which have been received and sent. It also
has a socket interface that provides a "virtual printer" for sending faxes
from word processors and similar programs, and can automatically e-mail a
received fax to a designated user and automatically print a received fax.

About: FFTW is a fast C FFT library. It includes complex, real, symmetric,
multidimensional, and parallel transforms, and can handle arbitrary array
sizes efficiently.It is typically faster than other freely available FFT

it uses novel code generation and runtime self optimization techniques

About: fwknop implements an authorization scheme that requires only a
single encrypted packet to communicate various pieces of information,
including desired access through a Netfilter policy and/or specific
commands to execute on the target system. The main application of this
program is to protect services such as SSH with an additional layer of
security in order to make the exploitation of vulnerabilities much more
difficult. The authorization server works by passively monitoring
authorization packets via libpcap.
Changes: A GPG-based authentication capability for SPA packets was added.
This new mode can be configured to require that a GPG message be signed
with a particular key or set of keys. In GPG mode, the fwknop client
prints GPG errors to stdout if not running with --gpg-no-batch-mode. The
ability to require that the client know the UNIX crypt() password
associated with a username on the server side was added. A patch against
OpenSSH-4.2p1 that integrates SPA mode was added. This adds a "-K <fwknop
cmd line>" argument to the SSH client so that fwknop can be executed
directly before an SSH connection is made.

utilities to format manual pages and other documents for output on
terminals and printers. They are portable and enhanced versions of the
respective OpenSolaris utilities, which descend from ditroff and the

as kerning, tracking, and hanging characters. It can access PostScript Type
1, OpenType, and TrueType fonts directly. Internationalized hyphenation,
international paper sizes, and UTF-8 input are supported.

About: LON-CAPA (The LearningOnline Network with CAPA) is a learning
content and course management system. It offers an underlying shared
content pool from which instructors across departmental and institutional
boundaries can assemble granular learning content for their courses. It
has strong assessment capabilities, both formative (homework and in-class
using wireless PDAs) and summative (online and bubblesheet exams), with a
one-source multiple-target strategy for the content. It offers students
portfolio space in which they can stage materials for submission to
projects, and provides a number of tools for synchronous and asynchronous
student-student and student-faculty communication. LON-CAPA scales well
with number of students, as load-balancing is possible across the whole
network of servers at participating institutions.
Changes: The "What's New" screen is now available to teaching assistants
and instructors, not only course coordinators, and again shows the correct
count of new course messages. The calendar tool now hides resources that
are not available to the student, does a chronological sort of events on
the same day, and no longer skips events that occur exactly at midnight.
Printing now again correctly handles cells that include images or are
centered. Filenames that include "=" are correctly escaped by the system.
Messaging again handles messages generated by version 1.2 or earlier.

About: MultiTail lets you view one or multiple files like the original
tail program. The difference is that it creates multiple windows on your
console (with ncurses). Merging of 2 or more log files is possible. It can
also use colors while displaying the log files (through regular
expressions) for faster recognition of what is important. It can also
filter lines (again with regular expressions). It has interactive menus
for editing given regular expressions and deleting and adding windows. One
can also have windows with the output of shell scripts and other software.
When viewing the output of external software, MultiTail can mimic the
functionality of tools like 'watch'.
Changes: When merging multiple inputs (e.g., logfiles) you can now prepend
the logged line with the subwindow-number (-S), so that you can easily
determine which one is logging. You can now use -Z to set the colors of
the markerline and get a timestamp in the markerline. The configuration
file location can now be set in the makefile or via the commandline (-F).

About: YAFPC-Appliance is a CD-ROM image based on KNOPPIX technology and
the PDF composer/printer/mailer YAFPC. Any PC booted from this CD can act
as a PDF print server and provide an unlimited number of network shared
virtual PDF printers. The system requirements are low. System
configuration can be done via a Web browser from any workstation in your
network. Virtual shared printers can be configured to apply letterheads,
watermarks, and appendices to all printed documents. After printing, a
document is sent to its owner by email, or can be accessed in a shared
folder on the server. Deployment is very simple.
Changes: The startup script now properly recognizes existing Linux
partitions. The repartitioning procedure now works with virtual hard
drives in VMWare virtual machines. A malfunction of the "Logout" button in
the Web interface has been fixed.

About: Yet Another Machine Simulator (YAMS) is a simple yet realistic
machine simulator, which is mainly aimed for teaching purposes on
operating systems courses. It simulates one or more MIPS32 CPUs and I/O
devices such as disks, terminals, and network cards. Additional devices
can be implemented as separate programs that use its I/O plugin interface.
The device properties are very configurable. High performance was not a
priority factor in its implementation since the main purpose is
educational, so YAMS is not an answer for people looking for a fast MIPS
emulator/simulator.
