About: BLAST is a set of similarity search programs designed to explore
all of the available sequence databases regardless of whether the query is
protein or DNA. It uses a heuristic algorithm which seeks local as opposed
to global alignments, and is therefore able to detect relationships among
sequences which share only isolated regions of similarity. It can be run
locally as a full executable, and can be used to run BLAST searches
against private, local databases, or downloaded copies of the NCBI
databases. It runs on Mac OS, Win32, LINUX, Solaris, IBM AIX, SGI, Compaq
OSF, and HP- UX systems.
Changes: Support for large search word sizes and multiple searches has

utilities to format manual pages and other documents for output on
terminals and printers. They are portable and enhanced versions of the
respective OpenSolaris utilities, which descend from ditroff and the

About: MultiTail lets you view one or multiple files like the original
tail program. The difference is that it creates multiple windows on your
console (with ncurses). Merging of 2 or more log files is possible. It can
also use colors while displaying the log files (through regular
expressions) for faster recognition of what is important. It can also
filter lines (again with regular expressions). It has interactive menus
for editing given regular expressions and deleting and adding windows. One
can also have windows with the output of shell scripts and other software.
When viewing the output of external software, MultiTail can mimic the
functionality of tools like 'watch'.
Changes: This is a merge of stable release 3.6.1 with development version
3.7.6. File sizes can now be abbreviated into KB/MB/GB. Parts of lines
from the input can now be removed. The regular expression menu now also

simple MIDI files for proofhearing purposes. PMW is written in C and is

Acorn systems, where it was known as Philip's Music Scribe.

About: QEMU is a fast processor emulator. Using dynamic translation it
achieves a reasonable speed while being easy to port to new host CPUs. In
its user mode emulation mode, it can launch Linux processes compiled for
one CPU on another CPU. Linux system calls are converted because of
endianness and 32/64 bit mismatches. In its full system emulation mode,
it emulates a full system, including a processor and various

About: rxvt-unicode is a clone of the well known terminal emulator rxvt,
modified to store text in Unicode (either UCS-2 or UCS-4) and to use
locale-correct input and output. It also supports mixing multiple fonts at
the same time, including Xft fonts.
Changes: This release mainly fixes some bugs that have crept into the 6.0
rewrite: lines do not glue together anymore, selecting scrolling text no
longer leads to segfaults, the selection gets displayed properly when it's
partially off-screen, and the iso14755 overlay is at the correct position
again. The is8859-7 table (Greek) has been updated to iso8859-7:2003.
Also, the iso14755 overlay now displays rendition info, and rectangular
selections now strip trailing whitespace.

configuration file, then it builds a compressed file for each of your
backup directories or files on your backup list, and places the compressed
files into another location. For example, this location can be a network
mapped drive in Windows, an NFS mounted drive in Unix, another hard disk,
an FTP server, one or more email accounts, or a tape device (Unix only).
This will duplicate your information, doing the so called "backup".
Changes: This release adds support for encryption of the backup files. It
adds the simplecrypt program, which allows the encryption/decryption of
