About: cachecc1 is a transparent gcc cache. It can be compared with the
well known ccache. It has some unique features. It uses an LD_PRELOADed
shared object to catch invocations to cc1, cc1plus, and as. Consequently,
it transparently supports all build methods. It can cache gcc bootstraps.

Changes: The user visible changes are: cachecc1 and followcc1.so have been
merged into cachecc1.so. The hash algorithm has been upgraded to MD4. env
variables used by cachecc1.so have been renamed. distcc and cachecc1 can
work together now. An Arch repository is now available. The project has
moved to cachecc1.sourceforge.net.

Communications :: Internet Phone
Communications :: Telephony
Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: Speech

About: The Cornfed SIP User Agent is a Session Initiation Protocol
(SIP)-based Softphone for your x86 Linux systems. It allows you to make
Internet phone calls using an Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) or
 Open Sound System (OSS) sound card with speakers and microphone as your
telephone handset.

Changes: This version adds a retry timer for outgoing UAC BYEs. It
integrates the "remote domain" CLI command function with the "remote host"
command and removes the "remote domain" command. It allows the visible IP
address to be used as the host portion of the Request URI in incoming
requests. It also fixes a bug in SIP URI parsing that parsed URIs with no
userinfo part incorrectly.

Information Management :: Document Repositories
Information Management :: Issue Tracking
Information Management :: Workflow Frameworks

About: CRM allows you to create entities to which you can attach files,
place alerts, prioritize, etc. It is multi-lingual and customizable. It
can be used for any department in which something comes in, must be
handled, and goes out, such as bug tracking, systems management (including
assets) or helpdesk call tracking. Installation is done using a simple
script, and a clear manual is included.

Changes: A customer journaling system has been added, as well as support
for creating new users with the same name as a previously deleted user.
"customer-owner" functionality has been added, as has a Web authoring
system, CRM_PDWAS, a Windows installer which enables you to open a file
(e.g., from Excel or Word) directly from CRM, and when you close your
application, the file will be automatically uploaded to CRM and joined to
the entity which it came from as a new file. The main entity list can now
be sorted by entity ID. The major help bug causing help pages to close
immediately has been fixed.

  by Peter Popovich (http://freshmeat.net/users/popovich/)
  Sunday, March 28th 2004 15:13

Communications :: Email
System :: Logging
System :: Monitoring

About: CRM114 is a Controllable Regex Mutilator and Smart Filter, designed
for easy creation of filters for things like incoming email redirection,
spam filtering, system logs, or monitoring processes. Filtering rules can
be either hard-coded (such as regexes), soft-coded (calculated at runtime
or read from an external file or process), or learned dynamically by
phrase matching (by SBPH hashing or Markovian matching). This makes it
possible to create very accurate filters with very little actual work.
Accuracies over 99.9% are achievable.

Changes: This is the new bleeding edge release.

[013] - Darkbot 7f1
  by juice (http://freshmeat.net/users/juicejar/)
  Sunday, March 28th 2004 00:11

Communications :: Chat :: Internet Relay Chat

About: Darkbot is a very fast and small IRC bot written in C. Originally
created as an aid for help channels to answer repeated questions from its
virtually unlimited database, it has became a very popular talking robot
in a generic sense, being used all over IRC networks for different
purposes and in 18 languages. Data can be added to it and managed
dynamically online or edited in its database files offline. An extensive
but easy-to-understand list of commands and features, including some
channel operation functions and levels of protection, makes Darkbot a very
flexible but somehow powerful and complex robot, with almost human
conversations and reactions.

Changes: This version features many bugfixes and a few new features.

[014] - DirList 2.8
  by Steven Lawrance (http://freshmeat.net/users/slawrance/)
  Sunday, March 28th 2004 12:59

Database :: Database Engines/Servers
Database :: Front-Ends
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Indexing/Search

About: DirList is a user directory system that runs as a CGI to serve up
user lists, search for various user attributes, view their web sites,
define personalised user attributes, and keep it all synchronized
automatically with the underlying operating system's user database on
periodic intervals with cron.

Changes: This release has been strengthened as a result of a security
audit. While no remotely exploitable holes have been discovered, a
scenario involving a high number of searches can potentially use too many
CPU and memory resources (a hard maximum is now defined). This release
adds the ability to import an index file from a machine having a different
CPU endian and support for 64-bit CPUs.

About: dlg2html is a set of Bash shell scripts which help automate the

the Web. (DLG Pro is a Bulletin Board System for Amiga personal
computers.) The HTML message files contain the appropriate links to the
next and previous messages, as well as to any replies or referenced

  by John Heinstein (http://freshmeat.net/users/jheinstein/)
  Sunday, March 28th 2004 15:29

Internet
Software Development :: Libraries :: PHP Classes
Text Processing :: Markup :: XML

About: DOMIT! is an XML parser for PHP. It is lightweight, fast, and
implements a generous subset of the DOM Level 1 specification. The primary
goal of DOMIT! is to provide PHP developers with a standards-compliant
means of working with XML, thus ensuring more portable and communicable
code. DOMIT! is not an extension; it is written purely in PHP and should
therefore run on any Web hosting platform with PHP 4 and above installed.
DOMIT! requires coupling with a SAX parser. You can use either the SAXY
parser that comes bundled with DOMIT! or the Expat parser that is included
in most later PHP distributions.

Changes: This release adds a master include file to resolve include path
issues, all source formatted with Unix end-of-line characters, and SAXY
updated to version 0.8.

System :: Archiving :: Backup

About: ECLiPt Roaster is a GNOME interface to mkisofs and cdrecord which
can be used for writing data and audio CDs and ISO images on the fly.

Changes: This release adds an error dialog for PyGTK installations without
thread support, fixes the reading of the available charsets to work with
new mkisofs versions, fixes the print-size error when using the overburn
option, configures checks for the correct PyGTK version, checks for medium
before reading audio CD content, fixes Ogg files with playback length with
fractions of seconds, adds a check for existing files when creating ISO

comprehensive API with functions such as put (), get(), chdir(), dir() and
pwd(). Active and passive modes are supported.

Changes: This version features a minor fix for the US-ASCII on control
socket, a minor fix for trailing non-digits on SIZE reply, easier
inheritance from the FTP client, and tweaks to put() methods to ensure
streams are closed.

include streaming or downloading of MP3/Ogg files or having them played
back on the host itself, full support for artist/album artwork, the
ability to download albums as a Zip file, random playing of songs from
specified genres, "featured" albums on the main page, and playlist
support.

Changes: This release adds support for multidisk albums
(genre/artist/album/disk/song), the ability to set personal preferences
(style and language), improved search functionality, two new styles, and a
cleaned constants file. You must run install.php even if this is an
upgrade, as the database structure has been changed.

[031] - kbarcode 1.7.3 (Development)
  by Dominik Seichter (http://freshmeat.net/users/domseichter/)
  Sunday, March 28th 2004 04:32

Office/Business
Printing

About: KBarcode is a barcode and label printing application for KDE 3. It
can be used to print everything from simple business cards up to complex
labels with several barcodes, such as article descriptions. KBarcode comes
with an easy-to-use WYSIWYG label designer, a setup wizard, batch import
of labels (directly from the delivery note), thousands of predefined
labels, database managment tools, and translations in many languages. Even
printing more than 10,000 labels in one go is no problem for KBarcode.
Additionally, it is a simple xbarcode replacement for the creation of
barcodes. All major types of barcodes like EAN, UPC, CODE39, and ISBN are
supported.

Changes: This release fixes many compiling problems, including compilation
using the --enable final configure flag. The UPC A generation bug was also
fixed. CSV import now works even if the line does not end with the
separator (as it is the case with OO.org's CSV files). Barcode sizes on
screen and printer are now the same. A Polish translation was added.

[038] - Moosic 1.5.0
  by Daniel Pearson (http://freshmeat.net/users/danielpearson/)
  Sunday, March 28th 2004 05:32

Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: Players

About: Moosic is a music player that focuses on easy playlist management.
It consists of a server process that maintains a queue of music files to
play and a client program which sends commands to the server. The server
continually runs through its playlist, popping items off the top of the
list and playing each with an external program. The client is a simple
command-line utility which allows you to perform powerful operations upon
the server's queue, including the addition of whole directory trees,
automatic shuffling, and item removal according to regular expressions.
The server comes configured to play MP3, Ogg, MIDI, MOD, and WAV files.

Changes: The "help", "current-time", "advance", and "noadvance" commands
were added to moosic. The "noplay", "sleep", and "wake" aliases were
removed from moosic. The next() and previous() server methods now behave
differently. The skip() and current_time() server methods were added. Most
importantly, the hostname is no longer appended to the names of the files
stored in ~/.moosic/. Client developers must update their code with the
new moosic_factory.py, and users who want to use their old config and log
files will have to rename them.

About: QCad is a powerful but easy to use 2D CAD program for Linux,
Windows, and Mac OS X. It uses DXF as its standard file format. While
other CAD packages are often rather complicated to use, QCad tries to stay
comfortable, and even an absolute beginner can create professional
drawings with a minimum of effort.

Changes: In this version, the performance for text entities has been
improved. Bugfixes have been added for mirroring, selecting ellipse
entities, DXF export, and for the Mac OS X GUI. A scripting IDE has been
added to the professional version.

Software Development :: Libraries :: PHP Classes
Text Processing :: Markup :: XML

About: SAXY is a Simple API for XML (SAX) XML parser for PHP 4. It is
lightweight, fast, and modeled on the methods of the Expat parser for
compatibility. The primary goal of SAXY is to provide PHP developers with
an alternative to Expat that is written purely in PHP. Since SAXY is not
an extension, it should run on any Web hosting platform with PHP 4 and
above installed.

Changes: This release resolves an inconsistency between the way SAXY
handles predefined XML entities, as compared to Expat. By default, SAXY
will now substitute all predefined XML entities with their character
values. The replacePredefinedEntities method has been added. All source
files have been reformatted with Unix end-of-line characters.

[079] - Yap - Yet Another Pager 1.0.1
  by Darvin (http://freshmeat.net/users/darvina/)
  Sunday, March 28th 2004 07:37

Software Development :: Libraries :: PHP Classes

About: Yap (Yet Another Pager) is a MySQL pager, which supports row
editing and interactive search patterns. It has two view modes: table
view, and detail view. The user, or the referring script, may specify
the number of rows to display. Add, modify, and delete operations may be
permitted per row. The modified data can be validated by a custom
function, prior to being written back to the database.

Changes: Identification of the column type was fixed. The previous release
issued an error if the table contained blob/text/set/enum columns. A
bugfix was also made for the error that the class reported if you didn't
set the parameters used by the edit functions (even in cases where those
functions weren't enabled). A new setting allows the first 15 rows to be
shown when the page is called for the first time. The default behavior
requires the class to show only the search box.
