 homepage: http://freshmeat.net/projects/marketanalysissystem/homepage/

description:
The Market Analysis System (MAS) is a software application that
provides tools for technical analysis of financial markets, including
stock charting and automated generation of buy and sell signals. The
MAS server was developed in Eiffel. The MAS GUI client was developed in
Java.

changes:
GUI changes: Support for intraday data. Screen layout improvements:
Bars in the right and bottom margins (and the date and numeric
reference values moved to within these bars to clean up the clutter
they were causing when they were inside the graph), and display of
reference values for indicators in the bottom right margin; values for
the last indicator selected are displayed. Server changes: Database
capability for the Linux version (MAS can now obtain its market data
from a database instead of from files, on both Linux and Windows),
extended validation of input data to be much more robust, a strict
checking option to specify that all records with errors are to be
discarded, capability to handle intraday data (the server can now
produce 10-, 15-, 20-, 30-minute, and hourly data from 5-minute data
and the same set plus 2-minute data from 1-minute data), and an
improved commandline interface for adding, editing, and removing
technical indicators, market analyzers, and market event registrants.

4Suite is a collection of Python tools and libraries for XML processing
and object database management, including support for transient and
persistent DOM, XPath, XPointer, XLink, XSLT, RDF, XInclude, and more.

changes:
General changes: documentation updates and consolidation, a domlette
reader option to force 8-bit DOM strings even in Python 2.0, XInclude,
and many Python 1.5.2 and 2.0 compatibility fixes, bugfixes, and
optimizations. In DOM: a native sgmlop reader, proper SAX2 support for
the reader, and an update to the 2000-11-13 level 2 recommendation. In
DbDom: implementation of cloneNode and document fragments. In RDF:
removeAll added to Model. In XPath: extension functions: evaluate,
distinct, split, range, if, and find. In XSLT: unparsed-entity-uri, a
more thorough test harness, restricted HTML writer output which is
allowed as a security tool, and support for source docs from stdin on
the 4xslt commandline. The Reader and URI handler APIs have been
organized to allow easier customizations. PyXML (0.6.3 + fixes) is now
built in.

The Global File System (GFS) is a 64-bit shared disk cluster file
system for Linux. GFS cluster nodes physically share the same storage
by means of Fibre Channel or shared SCSI devices. The file system
appears to be local on each node and GFS synchronizes file access
across the cluster. GFS is fully symmetric, meaning that all nodes are
equal and there is no server which may be a bottleneck or single point
of failure. GFS uses read and write caching while maintaining full UNIX
file system semantics. GFS supports journaling, recovery from client
failures, and many other features.

integrit is an alternative to file integrity verification programs like

put the database somewhere safe, and you can then use it to make sure
that no one has made any illicit modifications to the computer system.
In the case of a break in, you know exactly which files have been
modified, added, or removed.

tpop3d is yet another POP3 server. The intention has been to write a
server which is fast, extensible, and secure. Extensible is used
specifically in the context of new authentication mechanisms. It
contains auth_pam, which uses Linux-style PAM to mediate access of
registered users of a machine to their Unix-style mailboxes, and
auth_mysql, which works with vmail-sql to mediate access to
virtual-domain email.
