Do you have the location of the freetds.conf file?
There is a protocol version listed within.
Also, try editing the freetds.conf file and add a variable “dump file” as
given in the user manual
(http://www.freetds.org/userguide/freetdsconf.htm#FREETDSCONFFORMAT ).
The output of this file has logging information to help you track this down.
Your best bet is to grab a tar ball of the latest release and upgrade to a
known version, like v0.82.
The current stable release is available here: ( http://www.freetds.org/ )
