Yes, but nx should then use password and not a public key. Can the users login \
manually with password and ssh?

So:

manually doing ssh -i key nx@host gives you the 

HELLO NXSERVER - Version 1.5.0-06

or similar message? I'm confused now ... sorry.

Sorry, but at the moment I can just suggest to do a reinstall with nxsetup on the \
server.

This will also login as nx user in the testing stage, so you can make sure that \
everything server side does work and is configured properly ...
