This idea for putting books into electric format was put up on
shouldexist.org:
http://www.shouldexist.org/?op=displaystory&sid=2000/7/22/232021/385.

The idea is to have people who buy the book to scan or type a single, random
page out of the book and put it on the web with the title "12345678-n",
where "12345678" is the ISBN number, and "n" is the page number. Then you
can just go to a search engine for "12345678-345" and get page 345 of the
book. Freenet is mentioned at the end as a final resting place of the
completed copy (along with Gnutella), but if it was put on Freenet at the
start, would it be easier to write a bot to harvest the pages and put them
into the complted text?

I have to talk to the admins running 127.0.0.1. Their ping times are great!

Its almost as if its pluged right into my CPU!
