I don't think the deal is dead.  It may be that most folks have stuff like
their Life (c) going on.

As I'm new here, does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can find out
what's going on in terms of current development?

Hi folks: This list is getting almos no activity which would indicate
to me that the list has moved but I can't find where.  I've looked
through the freenet.sourceforge.net site but don't see any reference
to anyother mailing list addresses for development.  I also seem to
have lost the address for the irc server so haven't been able to ask
anyone in person.  So if someone wouldn't mind lending me a clew I
would certainly appreciate it.

On another note none of my browsers are capable of running java script
so I don't seem to be able to find anything useful through the fproxy
either.
