Dear all:
I am compiling kernel 2028. I read the
build.txt in ke2028\docs. Which memtions
about using NASM98R 06/04/99 202.606 Bytes.
I compared this to the nasm16.exe in
\fdos\bin\ I think there are the same one.
However, after I completed to build a kernel
the kernel can boot but will hung and shows following:
C: HD1 Pri: 4 CHS= 0-1-1 start= 0MB, size= 2014
Invalid OPcode at 0A2A 0214 0202 ......
I have not chage any source yet. Because of
'build.bat' does not creat 'libm.lib' in \lib
therefore, I only modified that part of build.bat
My system is running FreeDOS 2028 and FreeCom 0.83
I am using Turbo C 2.01 as C compiler.
I also tried nasm version 0.98.31, 0.98.32, 0.98.35.
It seems v0.98.35 having the same problem like 0.98.34 does.
It will NOT complete making a kernel because it can not use
far jump.
My questions are:
1) Exactly what version of nasm I should use
or should not use?
2) Does anyone know how to solve my kerenl booting problem?
Thank you!
Lin
