I remember reading your request before.  It's not very clear to me.

Are you asking for an option to make FreeDOS fail faster when it gets a
disk error?

How are you testing for the existance of a drive?

I have found in the past that using DOS function INT 21, AH=1C is a good
way to test for local drives...  I'm not sure what this will do on a
remote drive.
