I don't think there is an X server version dependency on libXfont here.

libXfont 1.4.8 will require an X server with this change to work when 
built as a shared library on Cygwin, but libXfont 1.4.7 and previous 
just don't work at all when built as a shared library on Cygwin.

Here is a pull request, but I guess we must be pretty close to 1.16, so 
I can resend this after that if you prefer.
