I have this exact same problem with TinyCoreLinux running on a Vortex86mx.
perhaps related to http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/commit/hw/xfree86/int10?id=21b216ad6ce2e9c89359b95e4196e42d91bf9420
