 Yeah unfortunately downgrading does not actually seem to fix the issue.

 

I will try another Distro

Stock 12.04 ships  a broken libXrandr [1]
Despite the bug is about NX we got similar crash reports on local Xorg  
connections

I don't know what is broken there, but it -afaics- affects that version of  
Ubuntu *only*

Try downgrading libXrandr or another (live-)distro on the issue.
