It's a regression. It breaks updates from older release. If it's not a
bug, can you consider it as feature request with attached patch?

What else needs to be discussed about this? There is already posted patch
that adds option. Nobody actually cares about it's default state. Users
just want a way do this.

Actually there is NO acceptable workaround for laptop users that plugs
more than one external display (like one at work and another at home).

Common guys, even M$ decided that just hardcoding 96dpi is a bad thing.
Why you want to repeat their mistakes?
