I purchased a Samsung monitor which advertises itself as having 1366*768 re=
solution but in fact it has 1360*768=2Cwhen the Linux GUI appears we notice=
that some pixels are lacking on the right border=2Cit is noticeable lookin=
g to some widgets=2Csliders etc.=2CI tried to put the following lines in /e=
tc/gdm/Init/Default:
xrandr --newmode "1360x768_60.00" 84.75 1360 1432 1568 1776 768 771 781=
 798 -hsync +vsyncxrandr --addmode "1360x768_60.00"xrandr --output VGA1 --m=
ode "1360x768_60.00"
when I do : #xrandr I get at the final lines of output........=
....1360x768_60.00 (0x111) 84.0MHz h: width 1360 start 1432 end 156=
8 total 1776 skew 0 clock 47.3KHz v: height 768 start 771 end =
781 total 798 clock 59.3Hz
It seems recognized but in Ubuntu monitors Preferences this Modeline is not=
an option=2Cso=2Cit appearsthat in fact it is not recognized.Do I need to =
go through /usr/lib/X11/xorg.d/ and put there the new Modeline using the sa=
me formatting we use with xorg.conf?and what do I need to put there? just t=
he line for the new Modeline or entire sections for device=2Cscreen=2Cmonit=
or as in xorg.conf.
