It has been mentioned a few times that there is this limitation
(hardware or software?) for 2048x2048, when you want 3D enabled as
well.
In lieu of a better answer, you can simply align the two screens
vertically, thus they would fit in a 2048x2048 box. See the --below
and --above for xrandr.
