being able to have a x client (composite manager) be able to set the window
pixmap instead of x auto-allocate would be nice. then client-side can implement
whatever policy it likes (but then again it has no idea what the server-side
pitches are so it can't be automatic about picking these sizes - maybe we
should have a call to get optimal pixmap pitches in width and height? so i know
resizing to 20x20 get me a 32x32 pixmap tile anyway, and i may as well resize to
that etc.?)
