OK, this patch set is now ready. Was a bit more work then I estimated,
a series of 8 patches.

This also includes a patch that enables the new automake 1.11 silent
build for D-Bus.

The patch should be beneficial even if CK support is enabled, since I
removed a stupid (and redundant) race in the desktop file reader.
