pthread_getthreadid_np is irrelevant to this question since that is returning
something completely different.

The referenced bug shows that this is a real live issue with ports, so it needs
fixing, not just handwaving away with "link libthr into everything". There is
no sane reason why a port like protobuf would have to link in libthr just to
get std::thread::id() != std::this_thread::get_id()  to come out true.
