FAST is searching for experienced and hard working system administrators
to join the successful team and help us stay at the leading edge of search
engine solutions. 

General description 
Administration and operation of the worlds fastest
search engine (www.alltheweb.com). Responsible for system and network
configuration, server performance, tuning and monitoring systems. Also
work with R&D team to ensure the best OS and system support for building
new search engine solutions. This positions is located in Boston, MA. 

Responsibilities
* Configure and manage a large distributed system 
* Manage installation, upgrade and recovery of OS and hardware 
* Monitor performance and traffic - tune and upgrade components as
  required 
* Work close with R&D team to expand and grow the search engine 
* Operate webcrawler and catalog building systems 
* Develop systems to automate, maintain and monitor the system. 
* Run projects with HW supplier and network supplier 

Required Skills
* Must be highly organized and detail-oriented 
* Must have excellent communication skills 
* Must be able to work in a team, but also take responsibilities. 
* Must have excellent knowledge of FreeBSD and Linux 

Minimum Qualifications
 * Undergraduate degree in applicable field, preferably Computer Science
   or Software Development 
 * 5+ years experience with PC based UNIX systems (FreeBSD/Linux) 
 * 2+ years experience with large production systems
