The Alpha Architecture Reference Manual is some help, but there is also a
calling standard referened in /sys/alpha/include/asm.h, and that header is
helpful to read as well.  You might want to bug people on the alpha list to
find those who already have alpha asm skill as well.  I have some, but there
are others on that list who have much more.
