It works for me too (8.0-STABLE i386). Thanks!

BTW, you wrote about assertion when virtualbox is built with debugging. I have
been observing a different assertion:

But I observed an assertion previously on 8.0-RELEASE (I didn't record it, so
I am not sure it was the same assertion) so I alway built virtualbox without
debugging.
