Yes, but not entirely:

des@dwp ~% file /bin/sh
/bin/sh: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (FreeBSD), for FreeBSD \
5.0.1, statically linked, not stripped

and you'll always have /rescue.
