The machine is unable to pull DHCP addresses from a local DHCP server, and is unable \
to send or receive packets over the network when configured with a static IP address.

FreeBSD 6.2 worked flawlessly with VirtualBox.

I don't have physical hardware for the pcn driver, and am only able to test in a \
virtualized environment.

Download VirtualBox v1.5.2 (http://www.virtualbox.org/), create a new VM, and proceed \
through the install. The network fails to work.
