Hello all,<br><br>Further to my previous post. The issue has not gone away I've now \
upgraded the BigIrons to ver 7.8.04 and the fastiron is now on 4.2.0. I've had to \
remove FSRP due to foundry versions not supporting it at the level I have moved to \
and I have now enabled VRRP.<br>&nbsp;<br>The issue still is that transfers between a \
device on the BigIrons running at 100mb and a device on the Fastiron running at a Gig \
is very slow one way the transfer is fine from the BI device to the FI device. From \
the FastIron to the BigIron is ridiculously slow. Just to add to this if I change the \
device on the FastIron to 100mb the transfers are fine both ways. If anyone has any \
idea how I can resolve this it really would be much \
appreciated.<br><br>Thanks<br><br>Kevin<br><br><br>------------Forwarded \

Hello,<br><br>I have an issue with some of my Foundry Network.<br><br>I have a \
BigIron 8000 (IronCore) with a Management 3 Module with 8 Fibres and a number of 24 \
port 10/100 modules. MM3 Software version 8.0.0.1 ( I have also tried from around 6.5 \
upwards). The BigIron is set as a layer 3 switch which manages traffic between the 20 \
or so VLAN's we have set up. <br><br>I also have a FastIron GS648P software version \
3.1.00 set up as just a standard Layer 2 switch. (I have also tried up to version 4). \
In this I have an E1MG-SX Fibre Module.<br><br>The problem I have is when I connect \
these switches together with a Fibre Lead I seem to have slow file transfer speeds \
between a PC patched in the BigIron and a PC patched into the FastIron. However when \
I connect the FastIron to a BigIron (same modules) set up with Switching code only \
the transfers are fine.<br><br>I recreated this problem in a test lab using the spare \
BI4000 and FastIron GS648P we have. I have also tried a Management 2 module with the \
same results fine layer 2 slowness on layer 3.<br><br>Is there some sort of issue \
interconnecting these 2 devices when the BI is configured as a Layer 3 Route/Switch \
?<br><br>I think the configuration should be fine I've basically just tagged in the \
VLAN's needed on the 2 Fibre ports. No configuration on the actual fibre connections. \
This is done exactly the same as the rest of my network which consists of 9 BigIrons \
varying from 4000 to 8000's and none of these have had this issue.<br><br>Any help \
would be gratefully received. <br><br>Thank you,<br><br>Kevin Tunak<br></body></html>
