Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
        Key: FOR-26
Summary: krysalis-site skin breaks with multi-level site.xml menus
       Type: Bug

     Status: Assigned
   Priority: Major

    Project: Forrest
  Component: Forrest skins
   Versions:
             0.3

   Assignee: Steven Noels
   Reporter: Jeff Turner

    Created: Tue, 28 Jan 2003 1:25 AM
    Updated: Tue, 28 Jan 2003 1:25 AM

Description:
With site.xml files, the possibility exists of creating nested menus more than two \
elements (menu -> menu-item) deep. This menu nesting is actually disallowed by the \
book.xml DTD, but the book2html stylesheet handles it anyway. However, the krysalis \
stylesheet relies on the fact that book.xml should only be two-level, by using the \
third level for intra-document links. Consequently, sites with >2 site.xml levels \
will have strange menu errors with the krysalis-site skin. Specifically, the \
intra-doc links are displayed where >3 external links should be displayed.

This probably ought to be fixed by redefining the book.xml DTD to allow arbitrarily \
nested menus, and skins updated to handle this.
