"and appropriate" should read "and any appropriate" node. Appropriate is
defined by what you want each node to be responsible for handling.

I am using OpenIDM with cluster configuration enabled but I \
wanted to know how this clustering is useful for our scenario described \
below 
 · We have two \
REST based services and it is invoking openidm via load balancer \
 · We have two \
openidm instances and single postgres instance for openidm internal \
repository · \
We are not using any managed object in \
between · \
We are using Openidm REST to create,update,delete,patch \
directory objects which is opendj \
 
Now the thing is OpenIDM is invoked via the load balancer so if \
we have two instances running and say one goes down then load balancer forwards \
request only to active openidm instance running. My question are we using \
openidm clustering the right way and is the purpose of clustering met in our case \
?
