It's part of Tooltalk's authentication system...by default ttauth (
tooltalk's authority file utility) will use $HOME/TTauthority unless the -f
flag is used (if you want to specify the name of the authority file)

Does anyone know what creates and controls the ".TTauthority" files?

I've had these files show up periodically in home directories, and they
disable the access to the account until they're removed.

I can't find any in information on the Sun Access1 web-site.
