Another performance test tool to consider would be Smartbits from Netcom
Systems.

This is a hardware based device to generate IP Streams of traffic.  they
claim to generate up to 1000 streams per card.
It has it's own internal clock so that provides for much better accuracy
for latency and timing.

There are some things it can't do that Ganymede's Chariot can do which
would be generating FTP, SMTP, telnet packets.

Also, this smartbits is not cheap even with the low end models but worth
it if you want true performance testing.  I believe it is priced
somewhere around $16 to $20K for government/military customers.
